Annual Crop Assessment

The BC Wine Grape Council aims to release an Annual Crop Assessment to report the price of each variety and the tonnage of each variety of grapes produced and sold within each grape growing region on the mainland of British Columbia by June 1 of each year.  Due to an extreme cold event in January 2024, there was little to no crop of grapes in the 2024 vintage. The data collected via the 2024 Tonnage and Levy declarations were approximately 4% of a normal crop year and the number of data points collected on pricing values were deemed to be insufficient for accurately reporting a true value for crop prices in the 2024 vintage.  For these reasons, the BC Wine Grape Council board of directors have decided to forego releasing an Annual Crop Assessment for the 2024 vintage.  The council is working to modernize its tonnage and levy declaration member portal and will resume reporting on pricing and tonnage data for the 2025 vintage. Please contact Kate Durisek, [email protected], with any questions or comments related to the 2024 Annual Crop Assessment.
